Results in the order of Junior, Under 14 and Open. Under 20 results to be posted soon. Despite the rain the night before, it was cool and cloudy on the day itself. Finally, after a 3 year hiatus, Rock On is back! Albeit a quiet start, the usual suspects are all here. The rain storms also took a break, and the program proceeded smoothly. Hopefully the weather stays fine for tomorrow too. Big thanks to Springfield Secondary who provided the bulk of volunteer belayers on both days. EARLY BIRD PROMOTION EXTENDED TILL THE 18th OF OCT 09! Q: Where and when will Rock On be held? - Rock On will be held from the 6th of November till the 15th of November 2009. Q: When is the registration period? Q: How many categories can I participate in?- For difficulty categories, a participant is only allowed to register for 1 individual category.
Q: How will I be informed of my reporting day and time or if there are any changes to the competition schedule? Q: Am I allowed to wear my own climbing shirt to climb during the competition? - All participants are required to don the competition T-shirt during their participation in the competition. Failing to do so will result in disqualification from the competition. Q: Can I make payment on the day of the competition? Q: Where can I register for the event? - All participants can register at any of the SAFRA Clubhouses in Singapore (Except SAFRA Gamehaven located at Carpenter Street). Online registration will not be available. Q: Can I register on behalf of my friend? Q: Will the competition require me to climb using a top-rope or lead-climbing? Q: Will climbing equipments such as harness, shoes and chalk bag be provided for participants during the competition? Q: When will the finals be held? - The finals will be on the 14th and 15th of November 2009 depending on the category. Q: When will I receive my ROCK ON participant’s t-shirt? Q: Will there be any safety plan for the competition? - Yes, there will be an onsite ambulance on standby during all days of the competition. 2. Attire An event T-shirt will be issued to participants upon reporting on the event day at the Competitors Reporting Booth. Participants are required to wear the T-shirt during their climb. Only participants in the Speed Mixed Relay Team categories and Total Defence category are allowed to don their team / unit attires. Only 1 T-shirt per category registered will be issued. 3. Reporting on Competition Day All participants must report at the designated time on the day of competition (details in competitor’s information sheet). Participants who failed to report within the designated time will not be allowed to join in the competition. Registration fees collected will not be refunded for failure to report at the designated time or no-show by the participant. All participants must observe the Competition Rules. 4. Categories Speed Speed Mixed Relay Team consists of 3 climbers and 1 reserved. Each team must have at least one female member who is an active climber (not reserved). No age limit set for this category. Each Total Defence Team Relay consists of 4 climbers from the same unit including the reserve. 5. Prizes Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners in the difficulty categories (Open, Under 20, Under 16, Under 14, and Junior), top 4 winners in the speed categories (Open, Under 20, Under 16, Under 14, Junior and Mixed). A trophy will be awarded to the top school of the competition. Prizes will also be awarded to the top 3 winners in the Total Defence category. Competition Rules & Regulations 1. Judging Speed Event 2. Timing Difficulty Event Timing will start when both legs clear the ground. The maximum time allowed to scale the wall will be decided by the President of Jury and made known to participants before the competition starts. Participants in the Open, Under 20 and Under 16 categories will have to lead climb on the semi & final rounds. Speed Event Individual participants will be given a maximum of two minutes to complete their climb. Relay team will be given four minutes to complete their climb. The timing of all four climbers in a continuous relay will be used to determine the winners in the speed relay categories. 3. Termination of Climb A participant’s attempt will be terminated by route judge should he/she:

5. Appeal All appeals have to be made in writing within 30 minutes after the results are displayed and an appeals panel will handle it. A charge of $50 (cash) will be levied to discourage abuse of this right. The money will be refunded to the participant if his/her appeal is successful. 6. Important Notice All participants are advised to ensure that they have sought and obtained medical clearance prior to their participation in this competition The organizing committee reserves the rights to amend any part of the Rules & Regulations without prior notice.
